Aimed at nurturing future scientists, the programme encourages students to dive into the evolving trends of space science and technology, laying the groundwork for a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

ISRO YUVIKA Programme: How to Get In?

The selection for YUVIKA 2025 is based on various criteria designed to identify students with a passion for science and technology. Here’s how you can qualify:

Academic Performance: Students must have scored well in their Class 8 exams. 50% weightage is given to your marks.

Online Quiz: A 10% weightage is given to your performance in an online quiz.

Science Fair Participation: Participation in school, district, or state-level science fairs in the past three years can earn you 2–10% additional marks.

Olympiad Rankings: Ranking in Olympiads or equivalent competitions (1st to 3rd place in School/District/State/Above) can contribute 2-5%.

Sporting Achievements: Winners in school or district/state-level sports competitions can earn 2-5%.

Scout, Guides, NCC, NSS: Active participation in these organizations in the last three years adds 5%.

Rural Background: Students from village or rural schools located in Panchayat areas can earn up to 15% weightage.

The YUVIKA Programme aims to select students from all over India, ensuring balanced representation from every state and union territory. The programme will be conducted at seven of ISRO’s prestigious centers:

Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun

Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram

Satish Dhavan Space Center (SDSC), Sriharikota
