Raffles University to launch degree programme taught & assessed by AI
Raffles University : Malayasia’s Raffles University is planning to launch a degree programme taught and assessed entirely by artificial intelligence. The degree programme was initiated after the dean of the Faculty of AI and Robotics of the varsity, Professor Sasa Arsovski, developed a platform called MyAi Teaching Assistant.
The university added that this platform will allow students to interact with created AI instructor clones, allowing them to log in and engage in an engaging learning journey. It claimed that the “Ai Lecturer is capable of independent teaching.” Students can even pause lessons to get clarification from the AI clone, which encourages active participation.
To make this a success, the experts will take the lecturers’ experience and knowledge and summarize it in a PowerPoint presentation. Based on this, an artificial intelligence-based lesson will be created and presented to students.
In addition, each student’s learning experiences will be individualized using artificial intelligence, which will be used to assess their comprehension and create individualized homework assignments based on the conversation history that has existed between them and the same AI clone. The same system will be used to evaluate homework answers from students, removing the need for manual grading and allowing teachers to concentrate on high-quality interactions with students.
The platform provides comprehensive data analytics for each student, allowing educators to enhance their teaching methods and adapt them to each student’s specific requirements. The university is confident that such a situation will not occur when asked if having an AI tutor will eliminate the human touch that, according to research, aids students in learning. A human avatar is used by our AI lecturer to mimic human interaction. Greg Pritchard, Associate Professor, said, “They are all real human academics overseeing and monitoring the interactions.”
