NIRF 2024: India Rankings to be announced on August 12
NIRF 2024 : The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) will announce the NIRF India Ranking 2024 on August 12, at 3 pm. Once released, the complete list, category-wise, will be uploaded at the official website — nirfindia.org.
For the fifth year in a row, the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT M) maintained its position as the nation’s best higher education institution by claiming the top spot. In addition, IIT Madras was ranked as the second-best research institution in the nation and won first place in engineering for the eighth year in a row. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru claimed that IIT Madras was only 2.2 points out of first place in the research category.
IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, AIIMS Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) took third through tenth place in the “overall” category in 2023.
Similar to the engineering category, the medical category also had a winner who won multiple times. Last year, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi once more rose to the top of the list of medical schools. The National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) in Bangalore, the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, and AIIMS Delhi came in second, third, and fourth, respectively.
The Minister of State for Education, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, announced the NIRF 2023 rankings. The “overall” universities, medical, engineering, management, law, architecture, colleges, research institutions, pharmacy, dental, agriculture and allied sectors, and innovation were evaluated across 13 categories in the 2023 rankings. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and launched on September 29, 2015, by the Minister of Human Resource Development.
