IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025 Registration Process To Begin On March 5

IISER : The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) will begin the application process for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025 on March 5, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply by visiting the official website at iiseradmission.in till April 15.

The IAT acts as the gateway for admission to the five-year (dual degree) programme for science students and the four-year BS degree programme for engineering sciences and economic sciences (offered exclusively at IISER Bhopal).

The application correction window will remain open on April 21 and 22. The hall tickets will be released on May 15 and the exam will be held on May 25. The answer will likely be released on the same date.

IISER IAT 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam in the science stream with a minimum of 60 per cent marks (for general candidates) are eligible to apply for IAT. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons With Disabilities (PwD), the minimum score requirement is 55 per cent.

IISER IAT 2025: Application Fee

Last year, the application fee for candidates applying under the General, EWS, OBC, and OBC-NCL categories is Rs 2,000. It is Rs 1,000 for candidates applying under Persons with Disabilities (PwD), persons registered as Kashmiri Migrants (KM), and SC/ST category. The application fee is non-refundable.

The IAT consists of 60 questions, with 15 questions each from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. The total time for answering the test is 180 minutes. Questions are of multiple-choice type with only one correct answer. As per the marking scheme, each correct answer will be awarded four marks. Each incorrect answer will lead to the deduction of one mark. There is no negative marking.

The tentative total number of seats available for the BS-MS/BS programme is 1933. Seats are available under the BS/MS programme at IISER Berhampur, IISER Bhopal, IISER Kolkata, IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, IISER Tirupati, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, and under the BS programme at IISER Bhopal (Engineering Sciences) and IISER Bhopal (Economic Sciences).
