DU Admission: Seats Allocated to Over 97000 Students in First Round
DU Admission : Delhi University (DU) has successfully allotted 97,387 seats in the first round of undergraduate admissions, with 52,838 seats going to girl students and 44,549 to male students.
The university has also decided to admit additional candidates in this round to ensure that seats do not remain vacant, even if some students opt for different colleges or courses later. A total of 10,096 seats have been allocated for the B.Com Honours program. The admission branch of the university had earlier appealed to students to fill as many college-course choices as possible.
The DU Undergraduate portal had registered 2,45,287 students this year. Only 1,85,543 lakh students had chosen their preferred course-college pairings out of these. The university will offer admission to approximately 71,000 seats across 79 UG programs and 198 BA program combinations in 68 colleges, institutes, or centers. There have been approximately 1559 subject-college combinations. 5,68,20,017 distinct cutoffs and ranks have been made public by the university. In the meantime, admission has also been offered to 1339 single girls and 243 orphan students.
On its website, Delhi University has added a new feature this year. Under this, understudies can check the end and rank in their dashboard in which they have been designated a seat. Each student has a unique dashboard. The details are visible to everyone based on their category and quota. For the same program, even if multiple students have the same CUET score, their ranks may differ. The order in which courses and colleges are preferred will be used to determine this rank.
A tie-breaking formula has been implemented at Delhi University for students with the same CUET score. Students will be given seats based on their Best 3, Best 4, or Best 5 subject scores, preference for older candidates, or names in alphabetical order. The results of the Class 12 board will be taken into consideration.
