CUET UG 2025 Registration To Begin Soon
CUET UG 2025 : The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon begin the application process for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025. While the exact date and time for the commencement of the registration window have not yet been announced, candidates will be able to submit their applications on the newly launched official website, cuet.nta.nic.in, once the portal goes live.
The newly launched website will serve as the primary platform for undergraduate admissions, where students can find updates and submit their applications once the registration forms are released. Although no official announcements have been made yet, the CUET UG 2025 notification, which will include details about the application process and exam-related information, is expected to be released soon.
CUET UG 2025: Major Updates
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced significant changes for CUET UG 2025, including a reduction in the number of subjects available for examination. The subjects for CUET UG have been reduced from 63 to 37, with admissions for programs in the dropped subjects now relying on General Aptitude Test (GAT) scores.
Additionally, exams for 33 languages will be replaced with assessments in only 13 languages: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
The number of domain-specific subjects has also been reduced from 29 to 23, with subjects such as Entrepreneurship, Teaching Aptitude, Fashion Studies, Tourism, Legal Studies, and Engineering Graphics being dropped.
The CUET UG will continue to be held once a year, as confirmed by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The information bulletin, which will provide details on exam dates, registration schedules, application fees, exam patterns, syllabi, participating universities, and other important updates, will soon be available on the official website.
Eligibility Criteria For CUET UG 2025
To be eligible for CUET UG 2025, candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
Have passed the final 10+2 examination conducted by a recognized state or central board.
Completed an Intermediate or a two-year Pre-University examination from a recognized university or board.
Passed the final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
Cleared the Senior Secondary Examination conducted by NIOS with a minimum of five subjects.
Completed a Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
Hold a diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board, with a minimum duration of three years.
