BSF Recruitment 2024: Selection Process For Multiple Posts Revised

BSF Recruitment 2024 : The Directorate General of Border Security Force (BSF) has announced important changes to the selection process for several recruitment categories via a Corrigendum notice issued on November 20. These modifications impact multiple recruitment drives for the year 2024, including those for Group B and C positions in several sectors such as the Inspector (Librarian), SMT Workshop, Veterinary Staff, Paramedical Staff, Air Wing, Water Wing and Engineering Setup.

As per the official notification, the BSF recruitment process will now follow a phased approach across multiple stages that the candidates must undergo to qualify for the posts.

Phase 1 – Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

PST: The candidates will need to undergo physical standards evaluation, which will include height, chest and weight measurements. A selection board will conduct this test and the requirements will be based on the criteria specified in the detailed advertisement.

PET: Those who clear the Physical Standard Test, will appear for the Physical Efficiency Test which evaluates their endurance required for the job.

Phase 2- Written Examination

Shortlisted candidates will be next required to appear for a written examination which will assess the candidates’ knowledge in various subjects related to the job profile.

Phase 3 – Document Verification, Trade Test and Medical Examination

Document Verification: Candidates who qualify the written examination will be asked to provide their original documents for the verification.

Trade Test: Candidates applying for trade-based professions (such as SMT Wksp or Veterinary Staff) will be required to take a trade test to prove the practical skills required for the job.

Medical Examination: Lastly, after clearing all the stages candidates will need to undergo a medical examination test to meet the necessary health standards for their respective positions.

These modifications are aimed to streamline the recruitment process and ensure that all candidates are evaluated using a uniform set of criteria. However, BSF has confirmed that the other terms and conditions for the recruitment process remain unchanged.
