Vice president Jagdeep Dhankhar to attend IIT Kharagpur convocation on December 24

A spokesperson for the institute announced on Sunday that vice president Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the guest of honor at the 68th IIT Kharagpur convocation on December 24. The spokesperson stated that Rajendra Prasad Singh, who is the chairman of the board of governors at IIT Kharagpur, will also attend the event.

She stated, “Professor Brij K Dhindaw, who had served at the Teaching and Research Faculty in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department (Material Science Centre) from 1966 to 2009,” will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from IIT Kharagpur this year.

Professor Dhindaw was instrumental in establishing IIT Kharagpur’s industry-sponsored postgraduate diploma course in steel technology and the master’s program in medical science and technology for MBBS students.

In other news, the first phase of the IIT Kharagpur placement season for 2022 concluded with over 1,600 job offers and over 900 internship opportunities.

Rs 2.46 crore remains the highest offer. The institute received 48 bids between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 2.64 crore in CTC. More than 45 offers came from multinational corporations.
