Deutsche Bank to provide engineering scholarships to 200 girls

200 deserving women and girls from low-income families across the country have received engineering scholarships through a partnership between Deutsche Bank.

A four-year engineering program at select colleges in Bengaluru, Jaipur, Mumbai, and Pune will be funded for the selected students.

At events held at the bank’s offices in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, and Jaipur, the bank and its NGO partner distributed scholarship letters and laptops. At the event, in addition to the girls and senior bank management, their parents and principals were also present.

The scholarship program has been designed to give students the all-encompassing support they need from the beginning of their classes to the end. The bank will collaborate with the Smile Foundation to run half-yearly training programs to keep the girls up to date on their skills. Students will also receive industry experience, support, and guidance for job placements after completing their course.

The four centers received nearly 1,100 applications from students attending over 50 colleges. Strikingly, a large number of these ladies would be the principal in their families and networks to accomplish high level proper training, the establishment reports. Nearly all of them hope to serve as role models for future generations.
More than 150 bank and foundation volunteers were responsible for organizing orientation sessions and selecting scholarship recipients.
