UGC debars OPJS University from enrolling PhD scholars
OPJS University: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has formally designated OPJS University, a private institution in Rajasthan, as an ‘unrecognised’ university for failing to comply with the commission’s regulations regarding the awarding of PhD degrees. According to the UGC’s official notice, the PhD degree-granting processes at OPJS university which is a private university at Rajasthan have not been followed correctly.
The choice to suspend OPJS college from enlisting researchers in its PhD programs was made after the college neglected to present the imperative information concerning the PhD degrees given in 2018, notwithstanding a few solicitations and a show-cause notice.
The UGC raised extraordinary worry about the college’s resistance, which brought about the college’s quick debarment. According to the governing body of the university, the establishment is prohibited from admitting new students to its PhD programs. Furthermore, the UGC has prompted understudies not to sign up for the PhD programs this college offers since they wouldn’t be acknowledged.
The UGC laid out a standing board of trustees to control on the off chance that colleges are complying with the cycle and giving PhD degrees in consistence with UGC guidelines. During the underlying phase of the methodology, 14 colleges were expected to give data with respect to PhD degrees conceded in 2018 in an organization that was determined by the council.
“Forthcoming understudies and guardians are thusly exhorted not to take confirmation in the PhD program presented by the OPJS college from now onwards. Without a trace of UGC endorsement, PhD granted by the college will not be treated as perceived/legitimate for advanced education and business,” the authority notice said.
The college has been excluded as, as per the UGC’s notice, it neglected to give the important data or appear for the gathering. The board added that it will make proposals on ways of lessening infringement.
