Sightsavers India Fellowship Programme: Sightsavers India, an organization committed to eradicating preventable blindness, has announced the opening of applications for its India Fellowship Programme. Eligible and interested candidates can apply by visiting the official website at indiafellowshipprogram.sightsaversindia.in.
Applicants have until June 30 to submit their applications. The selection results will be communicated via email by July, and the fellowship program is expected to begin in August.
The fellowship program, spanning over 24 months, will provide training to ophthalmologists in some of the top eye health institutes in the country, enabling them to apply the acquired skills and knowledge in real-world scenarios.
The main objective of the fellowship program is to nurture young ophthalmologists and broaden their perspectives on rural eye health. Throughout the duration of the program, the fellows will participate in a structured skill enhancement and mentoring process, which will cover clinical and surgical ophthalmology.
The Sightsavers India Fellowship Programme will provide selected fellows with training opportunities at some of the prominent eye health institutions in Delhi, Noida, and Kolkata. The program features a district posting, one-on-one clinical-surgical mentorship, and community-based survey participation. Along with a stipend and residential facility, fellows will also have the chance to gain international exposure.
To be eligible to apply, the candidate must possess a post-graduate degree or diploma in ophthalmology (MS/ DNB/ DO) from a recognized institute or university in India and possess knowledge of clinical ophthalmology.
