NCC cadets taken part in large numbers in Agnipath scheme recruitment

A senior NCC official stated on Thursday that a large number of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets participated in the Agnipath scheme recruitment of the Central Government. The Agnipath program, which was announced last year, requires the three defense services to recruit young people between the ages of 17 and 18 for a period of four years, with a provision to retain 25% of them for an additional fifteen years. The maximum age was increased to 23 years in 2022.

Agniveers are the names given to employees recruited through this method. Numerous NCC cadets have participated in the Agniveer scheme, which is extremely beneficial to them. “On completion of their service, NCC A, B, and C certificate holders can join other professions,” NCC Director General (DG) Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh told reporters. “Through it, they can take advantage of getting recruited in the armed forces.” Singh, who is in Madhya Pradesh for two days, said that the NCC has adopted a new technology to train its cadets using simulators. He added that it is also employing novel map-reading methods.

Another official stated that the nation has 14.75 million NCC cadets, with 1.20 million residing in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. He stated that the percentage of NCC cadets from MP and Chhattisgarh joining the army has increased to 8.25. In the past, the NCC DG inspected the brand-new campus firing range and gave NCC cadets citations at the Bhopal School of Social Sciences college.
