MNNIT Allahabad To Host 20th Convocation On August 18

MNNIT Allahabad : The 20th convocation ceremony of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad, Prayagraj, is scheduled for Sunday, August 19, at 4 PM in the institute’s auditorium. During the ceremony, students from various engineering courses will be awarded degrees and medals. The event will be graced by Dr. NR Narayana Murthy, co-founder and honorary chairman of Infosys, who will serve as the chief guest and address the graduating students. Dr. Vivek Lall, Chairman of the Board of Governors, will preside over the convocation, which will be held online. Other distinguished guests include Professor Sangita Srivastava, Vice-Chancellor of Allahabad Central University, and Professor Anand K. Tyagi, Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi.

Professor Rama Shanker Verma, director of MNNIT, told the media that 1670 students will receive degrees at the convocation. There will be 985 B.Tech., 414 M.Tech., 104 MCA, 29 MBA, 27 MSc, and 111 research scholars in it. Students from all over the country will be awarded these degrees. 334 female students are on the list of those receiving degrees at the convocation. During the convocation ceremony, honorable institute students will also receive gold medals. According to the director of MNNIT, more than 1100 students have registered to obtain the degree by appearing in person.

During the convocation ceremony, medals will be presented to 59 foreign students. Through the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) program, the institute accepted 52 men and 7 women. 15 students, 14 of whom are men and 1 of whom is a woman, who were accepted by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) will also receive degrees.

13 gold medals are also included on the list of awards for students who performed exceptionally well. Faculty members, alumni, and industry representatives will choose the winner of these medals. Om Vijay Gupta, a student in the Electronic and Communication program, will receive the institute’s gold medal as the best B.Tech final-year student from the 2023 batch. He will receive four gold medals in total.

Rishabh Gupta, a third-year civil engineering student, Vaibhav Kansal, a second-year computer science and engineering student, and Aviral Mishra, a first-year electrical engineering student, will each receive gold medals in the year-by-year medal category.
