Maharashtra Board 2025 Exams Date Sheet For Class 10, 12 Released
Maharashtra Board 2025 : The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has released the date sheet for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, scheduled for February-March 2025. The board released the complete schedule for both SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) examinations.
The HSC exams will be held from 11 February to 18 March 2025, while the SSC exams are scheduled between 21 February and 17 March 2025. The full schedule is available on the official website, mahahsscboard.in.
The board also issued an important notification regarding the minimum passing marks for these exams. Students preparing for the Maharashtra Board Class 10 exam should note that the proposed reduction in the minimum passing marks for SSC Mathematics and Science subjects; from 35 to 20 out of 100; will not be implemented for the February-March 2025 examinations.
This change may be introduced in the next session. Students appearing for the 2025 exams will still be required to score at least 35 marks in Mathematics and Science.
Confusion Over Passing Marks
There had been some confusion among schools, parents, and students regarding the minimum passing marks for Class 10 Mathematics and Science. The Maharashtra state board released a notification stating that, for the current session, students must score a minimum of 35 marks in each subject. Failure to meet this requirement will result in being declared failed in that subject.
Approval For Marks Reduction
Recently, the Final State Curriculum Framework (SCF-SE) for School Education had approved a reduction in the minimum passing marks from 35 to 20, following the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP). This adjustment was made last month by the State Steering Committee. It suggests issuing passing certificates with special remarks for students securing 20 marks, which would indicate their ineligibility in Mathematics and Science. Students with these marks could then take admission in courses that do not require these subjects. However, this rule would not be applied this time. Students appearing for Maharashtra Board exams 2025 will need minimum 35 marks for passing.
