JMI still undecided on implementation of CUET for UG, PG admissions 2024

PG admissions 2024: Jamia Millia Islamia is yet to decide if it would accept scores obtained in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for all its undergraduate and postgraduate courses, a senior university official said on Thursday. The university would accept CUET marks for only 15 UG and 5 PG courses, as the administration has not been able to reach a conclusion to implement CUET completely, the official, who did not wish to be named, told PTI.

“Acting Vice-Chancellor Eqbal Hussain recently met with the deans of all departments to discuss the implementation of CUET for admissions to the new academic session,” the official stated. In any case, no end could be met on taking on CUET totally,” the authority added.

Jamia will likely continue to accept students for the majority of its courses through its own entrance examination system, despite the fact that all central universities in Delhi, including Jawaharlal Nehru University and Delhi University, have adopted CUET for admissions for the upcoming session. Last year, Jamia reported incomplete execution of CUET for 20 UG and PG courses, expressing that the college couldn’t direct confirmations through CUET altogether because of time restrictions and scholarly limits. The university had stated that it intended to implement CUET for all of its courses beginning with the 2024–25 academic year.

With only one month left for the CUET assessments for PG confirmations scheduled for Spring, the college is yet to enroll itself on the Samarth entryway devoted for enlisting for entrance into different projects in Focal and State Colleges. ” I wish to concentrate on Mama Media Respects at Jamia Millia Islamia, in any case, the choice isn’t accessible on the Samarth entryway,” a postgraduate competitor said while addressing PTI. ” Another student stated, “We wouldn’t have to separately prepare for Jamia’s entrance exam if Jamia were taking admissions through CUET for its PG courses. This would have saved us a lot of time and provided more options to students.”
