IIT Guwahati PhD student awarded Vishwakarma Award 2023
Vishwakarma Award 2023: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Guwahati) PhD student Satyam have won the ‘Best Product Design” award under water and sanitation category at the prestigious Vishwakarma Awards 2023, which were organised by the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in partnership with Maker Bhavan Foundation and the WIN Foundation. Satyam is a PhD Scholar at the bioscience and biotechnology department of IIT Guwahati.
This Vishwakarma Awards are granted to help the most brilliant personalities in innovation advancement from science and designing universities across India. The topic for 2023 was water and disinfection, clean innovation and shrewd versatility. Satyam’s R-SAM-PRO is more affordable than other water quality monitoring devices and is compatible with the internet of things (IoT).
IIT Guwahati division of biosciences and bioengineering teacher Sanjukta Patra said, “It has been a surprising excursion seeing Satyam’s commitment and development in fostering the IoT-empowered water checking framework. His project, a shining example of modern technology, demonstrates a thorough comprehension of the difficulties associated with water resource management, particularly in developing nations. The framework’s moderateness, openness, and ongoing information transmission capacities are a demonstration of his specialized ability as well as his obligation to cultural improvement.”
The R-SAM-Expert gadget completely addresses basic water and disinfection needs with mechanical development, incorporating IoT, numerous sensors, and artificial intelligence preparation for cutting edge water quality checking. The framework’s ongoing information arrangement is urgent for natural protection and asset the board. It is very affordable and easy to use, making it very accessible. It has the potential to be widely used, especially in places where resources are limited, which would make water quality monitoring practices much better.
