IIM Calcutta appoints Saibal Chattopadhyay as new director in charge
IIM Calcutta: Senior faculty member of IIM (Calcutta) Professor Saibal Chattopadhyay has been appointed as the director-in-charge of the premier B school. In a statement, IIM-C said on Tuesday that Chattopadhyay has been appointed by the Board of Governors (BoG) with immediate effect. The statement said the change was effected in the wake of the receipt of a written complaint “against the earlier director-in-charge and recommending to BoG for his removal during an inquiry.”
The Inside Grievances Panel (ICC) of the establishment has gotten a composed objection against the individual concerned and suggested that he be eliminated from the expressed post to guarantee a “free and fair request”, while stating it shouldn’t in a way be a reflection about the benefits/bad marks of the charges. The action was expected for the ICC to guarantee that fairness is kept up with and the request is appropriately consistent with the standards of normal equity, it said.
The Swamp held a gathering on January 6 and acknowledged the proposal of the ICC that the concerned individual will not go on in office and will be taken out from the post. In accordance with the surviving regulation, the following senior-most employee Teacher Saibal Chattopadhyay was named as the chief in-control with prompt impact, the assertion said. Chattopadhyay’s ancestor ventured down three days back.
