BITS Pilani to offer PhD in Data Sciences

A PhD program in Data Sciences for Global Health will be offered by BITS Pilani and the Washington-based One Health Trust.

According to the institute, the program is expected to provide graduates and postgraduates with training in cutting-edge research methodology, current global health issues, and rigorous fieldwork and data analysis.

The BITS Pilani stated, “The unique full-time interdisciplinary degree will provide future students with expertise in statistical, quantitative, and qualitative skills in addition to advanced education in global health.

” G Sundar, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus director and senior professor, stated: OHT’s expertise in rigorous research and data analysis will greatly improve the nation’s data-driven public health policymaking and, as a result, overall well-being.

The deadline to submit an application for the doctoral program is March 31, 2023. Coursework for the first group will begin in July 2023. Students will take classes and conduct research at the Nimai Valley Center of the One Health Trust, which will open in January 2024, as well as at BITS Pilani in Hyderabad.”
