IIT Madras to offer programme on cricket analytics

IIT Madras : Indian Institute of Technology IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation in a partnership with GITAA will offer cricket analytics programme ‘Howzzat: Cricstats? Exploring the world of cricket analytics’. The GITAA is an IIT Madras incubated company, which imparts training in data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Through real-world case studies, experts from the sports industry, and the fundamentals of data science, the course aims to introduce participants to data analytics in sports. The eight-week program will be directed in web-based mode. The official course registration website is digitalskills.pravartak.org.in.

“Sports analytics is a valuable tool that helps sports organizations, coaches, players, and fans gain a deeper understanding of the game and optimize performance,” stated V Kamakoti, director of IIT Madras. As the games business keeps on embracing information driven navigation, the interest for experts with skill in sports examination is supposed to rise. For sports enthusiasts, taking a Sports Analytics course can be a rewarding and promising path.

The course is intended to give understudies a comprehension of the basics of information science, alongside pragmatic models from the field of cricket, the IIT said. IITM Pravartak Advancements will work with the course and GITAA will be the information accomplice, it added.
