UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 Application Deadline Extended Till February 21

UPSC CSE : The last date to apply for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025 has been extended till February 21, 2025. “The last date for submission for CS(P)‐2025 & IFoS(P)‐2025 has been further extended till 21.02.2025 (06:00 PM). Further, the Correction window of 7 days shall now be available from 22.02.2025 to 28.02.2025,” the notice by UPSC read. The application window was earlier extended till February 18.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply by visiting the official website at upsconline.gov.in. The UPSC aims to fill approximately 979 IPS, IAS, and IRS vacancies in the Commission through this recruitment drive along with 150 posts in the Indian Forest Service.

UPSC CSE Prelims 2025: How To Apply?

Step 1. Visit the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in and the online application portal at upsconline.gov.in.

Step 2. Complete the registration process on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform available on the commission’s website.

Step 3. Proceed to fill out the UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 online application form for the examination.

Step 4. Upload all the necessary documents as required.

Step 5. Make the payment of the application fee.

Step 6. Submit the completed application form.

Step 7. Download a copy of the submitted application for your records.

UPSC CSE 2025: Application Fee

The application fee for UPSC Civil Services and IFS is Rs 100. SC, ST, Divyang, and women candidates need not pay any application fees.

The prelims exam will be held on May 25, 2025. It consists of a total of 180 objective-based questions, with 80 questions from CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) and 100 from General Studies. It features a total of 400 marks. For every correct answer, candidates will get two marks. However, one-third of the marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. There is no negative marking for unanswered questions. Those who clear this round will have to appear for the main exam which includes a written test. Those who clear the main round will have to appear for the interview or personality test.
