UPSC Announces 45 Lateral Entry Vacancies For Senior Government Positions

UPSC : The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has posted 45 openings for lateral entry jobs for various positions including Joint Secretary, Director and Deputy Secretary. These posts are open for applications until September 17 and the initiative aims to bring in individuals with specialised skills to improve the efficacy of governmental operations. The application needs to be submitted online on upsconline.nic.in.

Ten open positions for Joint Secretary and 35 for Director/Deputy Secretary were announced by the UPSC. There are two open positions for Joint Secretary in the Finance Ministry, as well as one each in the Home Ministry and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. On the other hand, there are eight Director/Deputy Secretary positions in the Ministry of Agriculture, two in the Ministry of Education, and one in each of the Ministries of Civil Aviation and External Affairs.

The official announcement reads, “Online applications are invited from talented and motivated Indian nationals willing to contribute to the nation’s building to join the Government at the level of Joint Secretary or Director/Deputy Secretary in the under-mentioned posts in different Ministries/Departments with Headquarters at New Delhi on Contract Basis (On Deputation for officers of States/UT Cadres, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Autonomous Bodies, Statutory Organization, Universities, Recognized Research Institutes) for Candidates for the position of Joint Secretary must be between the ages of 40 and 55 and have at least 15 years of relevant experience. Candidates for the director position must be between 35 and 45 years old and have at least 10 years of experience. Candidates for the position of Deputy Secretary must be between the ages of 32 and 40 and have at least seven years of experience.
