NLU Tripura Withdraws from CLAT 2023 Admissions Over State Domicile Quota
The newly established National Law University of Tripura (NLU) has opted out of participating in the C LAT 2023 Counseling Process. For the 2023-2014 year, the NLU Tripura will not accept CLAT 2023 scores for admission to its B.A., LLB, and LLM programs. Additionally, the university has been removed from candidates’ NLU preferences.
In this regard, a recent notification was issued by the consortium of NLUs. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has been informed by the National Law University, Tripura (NLU, Tripura) that it will not participate in the Admissions Counseling Process for the 2023–2024 academic year. the consortium stated in its most recent announcement.
“NLU, Tripura shall be removed from the preferences indicated by candidates,” the notification added. “All candidates participating in the Admissions Counselling Process for the Common Law Admission Test, 2023 are hereby informed that NLU, Tripura shall be removed from the preferences indicated by candidates.”
The NLU Tripura is the nation’s 25th national law school and was established in October 2022. It was anticipated that the university would begin classes in 2023. However, the university was forced to cancel its BA, LLM, and LLM admissions a few days before the start of the academic year due to a state domicile quota.
As a result of NLU Tripura’s withdrawal from the CLAT 2023 Admissions Process, candidates now have access to only 23 NLUs based on their CLAT 2023 Exam scores. The counseling process for National Law Universities for the 2023–2024 academic year was initiated earlier by the Consortium of NLUs.
