Delhi University to Launch Two Separate Portals for UG, PG Admissions
Delhi University: On Tuesday, a senior official from Delhi University announced that the university will introduce two distinct portals for the admissions process of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, which will utilize the Common Seat Allocation System.
According to a senior official from Delhi University, the admission process for undergraduate and postgraduate programs will begin by May 20th and will be carried out through two separate portals: CSAS (UG) 2023 and CSAS (PG) 2023, utilizing the Common Seat Allocation System.
For the first time, the university will use the Common University Entrance Test for admission to postgraduate programs, having already admitted students to its 70 colleges through CUET-UG last year. To apply for admission, prospective students must take CUET(UG)-2023 and CUET (PG)-2023 and register on the CSAS UG and PG portals of DU. The university is confident that this year’s admission process will be smoother and more efficient than in previous years.
Registration for CUET undergraduate and postgraduate programs is currently underway, with nearly 14 lakh applications received for CUET-UG as of last week, indicating a 41% increase from last year’s debut edition.
The maximum number of applications for CUET(UG) has been received for Delhi University, followed by Banaras Hindu University, Allahabad University, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, and Jamia Millia Islamia. The exam is scheduled to be held from May 21st to 31st.
Despite its best efforts, Delhi University has failed to fill all 70,000 seats in the current academic session, with 7% of seats remaining vacant across all colleges. However, the university has inducted 11,300 postgraduate students into various courses.
