BBOSE to Conduct 10th Board Examination
BBOSE 10th Board: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) will conduct the Class 10 board examination in mid-June on behalf of the Bihar Board of Open Schooling and Examination (BBOSE). This move is part of an effort to restructure the autonomous body after multiple irregularities were discovered earlier this year.
According to sources, the decision to hold the 10th board examination through the BSEB is an attempt to introduce transparency and offer the opportunity to willing candidates who are not regular school students, dropouts, or have not completed matric.
As per officials, interested students must take admitted to the board and register for the examination, which is held twice a year. However, the December 2022 examination was postponed due to the detection of irregularities following a vigilance raid.
According to Om Prakash Yadav, the Special Secretary of Environment and Climate Change and CEO of BBOSE, approximately 17,000 students enrolled for the 10th board examination in November. He stated that the examination will be held through BSEB this time as a one-time measure to promote transparency in the examination system.
The decision to restructure BBOSE was made after the discovery of serious irregularities in the administration of examinations, issuance of certificates, and manipulation of enrollment by the organization’s staff. Officials stated that a vigilance team conducted a raid on the BBOSE premises in response to complaints, resulting in the arrest of five individuals on allegations of irregularities.
Om Prakash Yadav further added that in the past few months, a new system has been established, wherein the examination, evaluation, and tabulation of marks for students taking the tenth board will adhere to the standard operating procedure (SOP) of BSEB. He stated that the board would issue certificates only after proper verification and store the documents in Digilocker to enable students to access them easily in digital format.
The BBOSE is expected to conduct the intermediate examination tentatively in August. The CEO of BBOSE stated that approximately 25,000 students have enrolled for the intermediate examination under the board. He added that the examination would be conducted by the board itself and is scheduled to take place by August.
