MP NEET PG 2024: Phase 2 Counselling, Seat Allocation Result Put On Hold

MP NEET PG 2024 : The Madhya Pradesh High Court has stayed the second phase of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG 2024 counseling seat allocation process. A division bench comprising Justice SA Dharmadhikari and Justice Anuradha Shukla ordered the Director of Medical Education (DME) to open the registration portal for the petitioner doctors and include them in the second phase of counselling. The court has also issued a notice to the Principal Secretary of the Public Health and Medical Education Department of Madhya Pradesh and the DME and sought a reply within two weeks.

Dr. Ayush Srivastava and 14 other doctors filed a petition in the Madhya Pradesh High Court to stop NEET PG seat allocation. Earlier on January 4, the NEET PG counselling cut off percentile was reduced.

NEET PG qualifying percentile has been reduced to 15 for general and EWS candidates and 10 for reserved categories. After the reduction in the cut off, many new candidates have become eligible to participate in counseling. “It is for the information to candidates that as per the decision taken by MoHFW in consultation with NMC, the percentile for NEET PG counselling 2024 has been lowered,” reads the official notice.

According to the official notification, candidates belonging to the General Category and EWS category, on securing 15 percentile and above, will be eligible to participate in the counselling. SC, ST, OBC, and PwD category candidates can participate in counselling on securing the 10 percentile.

The second phase of Madhya Pradesh NEET PG counselling started on January 1, 2025. The seat allocation result was scheduled to be released today, January 7. However, the petitioners told the court that after the reduction in cut off, they should also get a chance to participate in this counselling.
