West Bengal Cabinet approves scholarship for OBC students
Monday, the West Bengal Cabinet approved a scholarship for OBC students with an annual academic grant of Rs 800.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched the “Medhashree” program earlier this month in response to her criticism of the BJP-led central government’s decision to end scholarships for students from backward castes and minority communities.
A senior official stated, “The cabinet also approved the trifurcation of the Mohammad Bazar Police Station and the establishment of two police stations in the Birbhum district, Rampur and Deucha.” “In light of the Deucha Pachami coal project, the decision was made to increase district vigilance,”
he stated. Additionally, the state cabinet approved the creation of 2,606 new positions in various state government departments.
