Uttarakhand Police : In a significant boost to law enforcement in Uttarakhand, the state police department will soon initiate recruitment for 2,000 new constable positions. The announcement follows the state government’s approval of the recruitment plan, signaling a major step towards addressing personnel shortages within the force.
The police division has been planning for this enlistment drive, with the authority cycle expected to presently start. The Uttarakhand Police currently has approximately 2,500 open positions, ranging from constables to sub-inspectors. About 2,000 of these positions have been approved for filling by the government, and soon, application forms for recruitment will be available.
This drive will also include approximately 200 positions from the previous year’s recruitment that have not yet been filled because selected candidates left or did not apply. Last year, around 1,700 positions were filled, yet roughly 200 opportunities endure.
Nilesh Anand Bharne, a spokesperson for the police, emphasized that the new hires will significantly strengthen the force, making service more effective and efficient. The recruitment will cover a wide range of departments, including the fire services, the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), and civil police.
It is anticipated that this recruitment campaign, which coincides with the ongoing transition of revenue police into regular police roles, will provide the department with the much-needed relief it requires as it struggles with staffing shortages. Uttarakhand residents can anticipate an increased police presence and improved service as the state continues to improve its law enforcement capabilities.
