UP NHM Announces Recruitment For 7,401 Community Health Officer Posts

UP NHM : The Uttar Pradesh National Health Mission (UP NHM) has announced a large-scale recruitment drive, offering 7,401 contractual positions for Community Health Officers (CHOs) across the state. The online application process for this recruitment began on October 28. Interested and eligible candidates can apply via the official UP NHM website upnhrm.gov.in. Those selected for this post will work at Health and Wellness Centers for a period of three years. To ensure commitment, there is a clause requiring candidates to pay a penalty of Rs 2.5 lakh if they leave before completing this term.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications: To apply for the post of Community Health Officer, candidates must meet specific educational qualifications. Applicants must hold:

  • A BSc Nursing degree with an Integrated Certificate Course in Community Health, or
  • A Post BSc Nursing degree with an Integrated Certificate Course in Community Health.

Age Requirements: The age limit for applicants is set between 21 to 40 years. Candidates from reserved categories are eligible for age relaxation as per government norms:SC/ST and OBC candidates receive an additional five years of relaxation, extending the upper age limit to 45 years.

Salary and Benefits

The UP NHM is offering a competitive salary package for the position of Community Health Officer:

  • Monthly Salary: CHOs will receive a basic salary of Rs 25,000 per month.
  • Performance-Based Incentive: An additional Rs 10,000 per month is available as a performance incentive, encouraging candidates to actively engage in delivering quality healthcare services.

Job Responsibilities

CHOs will play a vital role in improving healthcare delivery across Uttar Pradesh, primarily focusing on:

  • Promoting preventive and primary healthcare,
  • Monitoring and managing patient health at the community level,
  • Addressing and providing support for maternal and child health, communicable diseases, and non-communicable diseases.

Selection Process

The selection procedure for the CHO role includes two main stages:

  1. Written Examination:
    • The exam will be conducted in an online mode, covering 100 objective-type questions.
    • Candidates will have two hours to complete the exam, which will assess their knowledge in relevant subjects necessary for the role of a Community Health Officer.
  2. Document Verification:
    • After the written exam, candidates will undergo a document verification process to confirm their eligibility, including educational qualifications, age, and category.
