UGC launches 'ASMITA' project to produce 22,000 books in Indian languages
‘ASMITA’ project : The Ministry of Education, University Grants Commission (UGC), and Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti have launched three new initiatives to promote Bharatiya Bhasha in higher education. The launch took place during a workshop on ‘Writing of Textbooks in Bharatiya Bhasha for Higher Education,’ organised by UGC and Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti.
Secretary of Advanced education, Sanjay Murthy, sent off ‘ASMITA’ drive, pointed toward improving review materials in Indian dialects through interpretation and scholarly composition.
This cooperative exertion between the UGC and Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti looks to lay out serious areas of strength for a for deciphering and composing unique books in different disciplines inside advanced education. The drive points is to deliver 1,000 books in 22 dialects over the course of the following five years, adding up to 22,000 books in Bharatiya Bhasha.
“This task expects to make a strong environment for interpretation and unique book writing in Indian dialects across different disciplines inside advanced education. The objective is to create 1,000 books in 22 dialects in something like five years, bringing about 22,000 books in Bharatiya bhasha,” UGC Administrator Jagadesh Kumar said.
