UGC drafts guidelines to recognise foreign degrees, bars online or distance mode

UGC : The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Thursday let draft rules for acknowledgment of degrees out of unfamiliar foundations and left out degrees got under on the web or distance instruction mode.

The guidelines won’t be appropriate to “proficient capabilities granted by unfamiliar instructive organizations” in disciplines like Medication, Drug store, Nursing, Regulation, and Engineering”, the draft rules expressed.

Rules were likewise given for instructive capabilities from schools under an unfamiliar board, or any degree from a seaward grounds.

The guidelines come when unfamiliar colleges are in the high level phases of setting up grounds at GIFT City in Gujarat and Indian colleges are teaming up with foundations abroad to offer double or joint degrees.

A degree from an unfamiliar higher instructive establishment will be perceived and conceded equality provided that an understudy genuinely goes to a foundation perceived by the nation of origin, the UGC expressed. Section level necessities for admission to the program should likewise be comparative that of a relating program in India, it said.
