TISS SVE invites students for vocational career counselling test

Students from higher secondary schools are invited to interact with the Vocational Aptitude System (VAS) at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences School of Vocational Education (TISS SVE).

TISS – SVE and the Guard Organization of Mental Exploration, DRDO sent off VAS last year in July. It is a psychometric test that is standard and aims to show students the “most appropriate path within the realm of vocational education.” The ability schooling and advising unit are directing VAS. Up to this point, 91 understudies have partaken in this test, and the unit anticipates an expansion in enlistment this year. Before enrolling in TISS SVE programs or other vocational programs, students can register for VAS.

Multiple assessments of students’ aptitude in 15 different fields are included in the test. The test is expected to be valid and reliable due to its ease of use. The software-enabled system enables both individual and group administration of the test. Based on their interests, students can choose from up to three sectors. The test will be directed inside the picked areas. Students can re-register if they want to investigate additional fields. Toward the finish of the test, understudies will get auto-created reports that will be obvious, in light of which they can go for additional profession advising administrations.

Shivranjani Kulkarni, senior manager of the skill education and counseling unit, noticed that young people don’t understand what it takes to choose a career.
