Yogesh Singh, the vice chancellor of Delhi University, stated that even prospective three-year students will receive an UG honours degree. Students will no longer be able to earn an undergraduate honors degree until they have successfully completed a four-year course, according to new guidelines that were drafted by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
A draft titled “Curriculum and credit framework for four-year undergraduate programs” includes mention of these guidelines. The draft has been prepared in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP), and you will likely be informed on Monday.
According to Singh, the university will use a system that has been approved by its academic bodies at least for this academic session, even though the university’s new Four-Year Undergraduate Program (FYUP) will start in the academic year 2022-23.
A NEP Cell’s Undergraduate Curriculum Framework-2022 (UGCF-2022) was approved by the varsity’s Executive Council (EC) in February.
The FYUP provides qualifications based on a student’s number of years in school.
Students will receive a one-year certificate, two-year diploma, and the option to enroll in a three- or four-year honors program.
