SBI Recruitment : Amid widespread job losses and a slowdown in recruitment across various sectors, the State Bank of India (SBI) has offered a rare note of optimism. The country’s largest public sector bank is preparing to launch its most extensive recruitment initiative in a decade during the 2025–26 financial year, with plans to appoint approximately 18,000 new staff members.
This large-scale hiring effort is aimed at strengthening SBI’s technological infrastructure and enhancing its general banking services. The move follows significant investments by the bank to reinforce its digital platforms, aligning with its long-term strategy of modernising operations.
The recruitment drive addresses multiple objectives, including filling vacancies created by retirements, supporting the expansion of SBI’s national branch network, and scaling up the bank’s digital and fintech capacities.
SBI Chairman CS Shetty formally announced the recruitment plan during the bank’s fourth-quarter financial results for 2024–25.
