RRB JE CBT 2 Exam: April 22 Second Shift Exam Cancelled Following Repetition Of Shift 1 Questions

RRB JE : The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) has cancelled the RRB JE CBT 2 examination conducted on the second shift of April 22, 2025. The announcement was made after it was found that some questions from the first shift were repeated in the second shift due to software-related errors. The exam will take place in the “near future” and revised date will be announced by the board in due course of time.

“It has come to the notice of RRB that some questions of shift-1 got repeated in shift-2 of CBT-2 due to some inadvertent errors occurred in the software system,” reads the official notice.

“RRBs follow a system to ensure highest standard of confidentiality in creation, processing, maintenance, storage , encryption and administration of question sets . And ensure zero human intervention in question paper setting and transmission to exam centers. This has been done through software-based methodology. It has come to the notice that some questions got repeated from 1st shift to 2nd shift due to technical error in the software system and exam conducted on 2nd shift got affected,” the notice added.

“RRBs take all possible measures to ensure fairness and transparency in the recruitment process and the above mistake is deeply regretted for causing inconvenience to the candidates,” it further stated.

The RRB JE selection process consists of several stages – CBT 1, CBT 2, Document Verification, and Medical Test. Only those candidates who successfully clear CBT 1 are eligible for further rounds. CBT-2 was held for 120 minutes (160 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates with a scribe), consisting of 150 questions. A total of 20792 candidates cleared CBT 1 which was held on December 16, 17, and 18. The CBT 1 question papers, candidate responses, and answer keys were made available on December 23 and results were declared on March 6.

This recruitment drive aims to fill 7,951 positions, including 17 for Chemical Supervisor/Research and Metallurgical Supervisor/Research, and 7,934 for Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant.
