RRB Group D Recruitment: Notification Out For 32,438 Posts, 10th Pass Can Apply From Jan 23

RRB Group D: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released the RRB CEN No. 08/2024 recruitment notification today, January 21, 2025. This notification is for hiring various Level 1 posts under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. A total of 32,438 positions are available. The registration process will start on January 23, 2025, and the last date to apply is February 22, 2025. The RRB Group D exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

“Dates for PET, Document Verification, Medical Examination and Empanelment shall be intimated from time to time through the websites of Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs) listed at para 21.0 (B) of this CEN. Online applications are invited by RRBs on behalf of RRCs from eligible Indian Nationals and other nationals as brought out at Para 4 of this CEN for various posts in Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix in various units of Indian Railways. Applications should be submitted online to the chosen Railway Recruitment Board till 23.59 hrs of 22.02.2025,” reads the official notification.

RRB Group D Vacancy Details

This recruitment drive offers positions including Assistant Bridge, Assistant C&W, Assistant Depot (Stores), Assistant Loco Shed (Diesel), Track Maintainer, Cabin Man, Pointsman, and others. Candidates are encouraged to refer to the official notification for detailed information on vacancies for each post.

RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed the 10th grade are eligible to apply for Group D posts.
  • ITI Diploma Requirement: An ITI diploma is no longer mandatory for Group D job applicants. Previously, candidates applying for technical departments were required to have a 10th-grade pass certificate along with an NCSC or ITI diploma issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). Candidates without these qualifications were not eligible to apply.

RRB Group D Age Limit

According to the detailed notification, the age limit should be between 18 to 36 years as on January 1, 2025.

Notably, To provide relief to many candidates who may have exceeded the age limit and missed the opportunity to participate in Railway recruitment due to the Covid -19 pandemic, it has been decided to grant a one-time age relaxation of 3 years beyond the prescribed upper age limit for the posts in Level-1.
