CM Bhagwant Mann: 16 Medical Colleges create

16 medical colleges to be created by Punjab govt:The Punjab government has decided to construct 16 medical sodalities five times, raising the total number of similar institutes in the state to 25, Mann said.

Punjab will crop as a mecca of medical education for the world, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said on Sunday after examining the point of a forthcoming medical council in the quarter According to a sanctioned release, he said the medical council, coming up on an area of 20 acres at a cost of Rs 428.69 crore, will be named after Guru Nanak Dev. The design has been perfected and work on this ambitious design will start soon, the chief minister said.

He said that since a large number of scholars from other countries will also come to this council, a hotel installation along with a 300- bed sanitarium will also be constructed.

The foundation gravestone of the Sant Attar Singh State Institute of Medical Dolores at Mastuana Sahib in Sangrur had formerly been laid and work on two medical sodalities at Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur will also commence soon, he said.

The scholars aspiring to pursue medical education will no longer have to go to countries like Ukraine as they will be handed quality medical education then, the Punjab chief minister said.

Criminating the former governments for not having paid any attention to medical education, he claimed that health, education, power, and clean water are the major thrust areas of the AAP government.

Reiterating that the state government is completely committed to conserving the hard-earned peace in Punjab, Mann said emphatic sweats are being made to discourage the gun culture, and police officers have been directed not to spare anyone delivering hate speeches.

Latterly, Mann also audited the point of a forthcoming medical council at Hoshiarpur to be named after fatality Shaheed Udham Singh. He said this medical council will come up over an area of around 23 acres and the total cost of the design will be Rs 418.3 crore.
