Prime Minister to inaugurate medical college in Silvassa on April 25

During his April 25 visit to the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and the Union Territory of Daman and Diu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open a medical college in Silvassa town and launch a slew of projects worth more than Rs 4,800 crore, officials said on Tuesday.

Later at night, the PM is booked to hold a 16-kilometer-long roadshow in Daman town of the Association Domain, they said. According to the official schedule, Modi will travel to Silvassa, the capital of the Dadra and Nagar Haveli district, on April 25 to officially open the “NAMO Medical College,” which was built at a cost of Rs 203 crore and is funded by the central government.

The PM will address a gathering in Sayli, near Silvassa, following a tour of the newly constructed medical college and other facilities that are part of the “NAMO Medical Education & Research Institute.” He would open or lay the groundwork for various projects for the entire Union Territory adjacent to Gujarat from the same location. According to the officials, the PM will launch projects totaling Rs 4,804.64 crore during his day-long visit. According to them, Modi will travel to the Union Territory town of Daman in the evening to hold a 16-kilometer roadshow from a newly developed seafront road. According to a press release, the development of the cutting-edge infrastructure project known as “Devka Promenade and Seafront” began in May 2018 and will be completed in March 2023 at a cost of Rs 165.10 crore.

The goal is to make Daman a popular destination for tourists. The PM is also expected to attend the ongoing Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam event on April 26 at Somnath in Gujarat, according to sources. The purpose of the event, which will take place from April 17 to April 30, is to preserve and promote the rich culture and heritage of Gujarat’s Saurashtra and Tamil Nadu. The program looks to reconnect Tamil-talking travelers from Saurashtra with their underlying foundations and encourage support in social trade between the area and the southern state.
