PM-YUVA 3.0 Applications Begin, Golden Opportunity For Young Authors To Get Free Training

PM-YUVA 3.0 : The Ministry of Education’s Department of Higher Education launched PM-YUVA 3.0 on March 11, 2025. This Prime Minister’s Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors is designed to train aspiring writers under 30 years old. The programme aims to cultivate a vibrant reading and writing culture within India and promote Indian literature globally. The last date to apply is April 10.

PM-YUVA 3.0 aims to empower young Indian authors to write in 22 Indian languages and English. The National Book Trust, India, will spearhead the implementation of PM-YUVA 3.0. Selected manuscripts will be published and translated into various Indian languages to foster literary exchange. The programme will provide young authors with opportunities to interact with established writers, participate in literary events, and contribute to contemporary discourse.

PM-YUVA 3.0 Themes

Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, the initiative will focus on three key themes:

1) Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Nation Building;

2) Indian Knowledge System; and

3) Makers of Modern India (1950-2025).

“The scheme will help to develop a stream of writers who can write on various facets of India encompassing the past, present, and future. Besides, the scheme will also provide a window to the aspiring youth to articulate themselves and present a comprehensive outlook of contribution of Indians across fields in ancient and present times,” reads the official notice.

PM-YUVA 3.0: Selection Process, Timeline

The contestants will be asked to submit a book proposal of 10,000 words. This includes a synopsis of 2000-3000 words, a chapter plan, two-three sample chapters of 7000-8000 words, a bibliography, and references.

A total of 50 young authors will be chosen: 10 for the Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Nation Building theme, 20 for the Indian Knowledge System, and 20 for Makers of Modern India (1950-2025).
