According to the ministry of education, more than 55,000 schools have submitted applications for the PM SHRI scheme.

The Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India scheme, which went live on November 3, aims to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by upgrading 14,500 schools. According to the ministry, these schools will be equipped with digital technology, and their pedagogy will be more experiential, holistic, integrated, and learner-centered. According to the report, all 29 states and union territories, Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVS), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS), Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, and all 55,564 schools have signed up for the program.

Association training priest Dharmendra Pradhan in June 2022 declared that the public authority is wanting to set up PM SHRI schools and said it will be “the research facility of NEP”. Following that, on Teacher’s Day 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an official announcement regarding the PM SHRI Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI),

Under the scheme, 14,500 schools across India will be built and upgraded, according to the Prime Minister. A budget of Rs 27,360 crore was approved by the Cabinet to upgrade PM SHRI schools over the course of five years (from 2022 to 27).

18 lakh understudies are supposed to be immediate recipients of the plan, Pradhan said prior. In each block, the government will choose a maximum of two schools, one elementary and one secondary or senior secondary. 60 “point-based” criteria, including playground, boundary wall, and drinking water, will be used to make the decision.
