NIT Goa: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the permanent campus of National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa) tomorrow. The new campus has been set up of 70750 sqm, with construction cost of Rs 390.83 crore.
Union education minister Dharmendra Pradesh, Goa governor Sreedharan Pillai, chief minister Pramod Sawant, Union minister of state for ports, shipping, waterways and tourism Shripad Naik; MP of South Goa Francisco Sardinha; and Leader of Opposition and MLA from Cuncolim Yuri Alemao will also be present during the inaugural event.
Since it was established in 2010, NIT Goa has been working at its travel grounds inside the premises of Goa Designing School, Farmagudi. In the presence of former Union Human Resource Development minister Prakash Javadekar, the foundation stone was laid on December 15, 2018, by Manohar Parrikar, the then-chief minister of Goa. Parrikar needed to lay out a foundation of public significance in the state.
“In May 2019, the making arrangements for development of NIT Goa grounds was begun with CPWD as Task Checking Board of trustees and the first period of the work in quite a while of land was considered. The development of the grounds has been finished utilizing RCC Precast 3S Innovation,” the service said.
The development of the grounds at Cuncolim, South Goa with the assistance of the service of training was finished in 2023. NIT Goa can oblige 1,260 understudies. The new grounds additionally gives offices like instructional exercise perplexing, departmental complex, class mind boggling, managerial complex, inns, wellbeing focus, staff quarters, convenience focus, and sports ground among different utilities.
