OSSC LTR Teacher Recruitment 2024 Exam Schedule Announced

OSSC : The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) has released the exam schedule for the Leave Training Reserve (LTR) Teachers recruitment exam 2024. According to the official notice, the preliminary exam will likely be conducted in the fortnight of March 2 or April 1, 2025. Candidates who applied for the exams can check the date sheet on the official website at ossc.gov.in.

This recruitment drive aims to fill 6,025 LTR Teacher vacancies in Government Secondary Schools under the School and Mass Education Department in Odisha, Bhubaneswar. Notably, 1,988 of these positions are reserved specifically for women. Check subject-wise vacancy details below:

TGT Arts: 1984 posts

TGT Science (PCM): 1020 posts

TGT Science (CBZ): 880 posts

Hindi Teacher: 711 posts

Classical (Sanskrit) Teacher: 729 posts

Telugu Teacher: 6 posts

Urdu Teacher: 14 posts

OSSC LTR Teacher Recruitment 2024: Selection Process

The selection procedure for the OSSC LTR Teacher Recruitment 2024 consists of three phases — a Preliminary Examination, a Main Written Examination, and Certificate Verification.

Preliminary Examination: This objective-format exam serves as a qualifying assessment. Candidates who pass this stage will move on to the next phase.

Main Written Examination: In this phase, five times the number of vacancies (based on post and category) will be shortlisted for further evaluation.

Certificate Verification: The final phase involves validating the candidates’ eligibility by reviewing relevant documents, including proof of age, qualifications, and other essential criteria.

To be eligible for the exam, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Arts or Commerce, or a Shastri (Sanskrit) degree from a recognized university, along with two school subjects from a recognized institution, achieving a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate (or 45 per cent for SC/ST/PwD/SEBC candidates).

Alternatively, candidates may also qualify with a four-year integrated B.A. B.Ed. degree from any NCTE-recognized institution, which includes two school subjects as defined in the accompanying proviso, with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate (or 45 per cent for SC/ST/PWD/SEBC candidates). Else, they must have a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) or a 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed degree from an institution recognized by the NCTE.
