NMMSS 2024-25 Application Deadline Extended Till November 15
NMMSS 2024-25 : The Ministry of Education has extended the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) application deadline for the 2024-2025 academic year via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The applications must now be submitted by November 15, 2024. Students who fit the requirements can apply through the official website, scholarships.gov.in/student.
The official notice states that the NSP portal is open for submission of applications by students. In this project year 2024-25, the selected students are first to do a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the NSP, after which they have to apply for the scholarship scheme that they have selected.
The NSP portal has two verification steps for scholarship applications. The first level (L1) is conducted by the Institute Nodal Officer (INO), while the second level (L2) is conducted by the District Nodal Officer (DNO). Candidates must note that INO verification (L1) must be completed by November 15, 2024, and DNO verification (L2) must be completed by November 30, 2024.

Step 2. Enter your information to register.
Step 3. Complete the scholarship application.
Step 4. Submit your application and check the status.
Step 5. Print a copy of your application for future use.
Step 1: Visit the NSP Scholarship’s official website at scholarship.up.gov.in.
Step 2 Find out the link named ‘Status’ and choose the ‘Application Status’ option given.
Step 3: You will be taken to a fresh page, put all the essential information, and then choose the ‘Search’ button.
Step 4: The screen will showcase the status of the application.
For Class IX students, who pass the qualifying exam administered by the State/UT administrations, the program offers one lakh new scholarships annually.
Scholarship eligibility requirements include a minimum of 55% or an equivalent grade in the Class VII exam to appear in the selection test for scholarship award (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST students) and parental income of no more than Rs 3.50 lakh annually.
Based on the student’s academic achievement, the scholarship is renewed from Classes X to XII. The scholarship amount is Rs 12,000 per year per student, and the program is exclusively available to students enrolled in State Government, Government-aided, and local body schools.
