NIT Srinagar students develop Kashmir’s first racing model ‘Go-Kart’

Go-Kart, Kashmir’s first racing model created by students at the NIT, will compete in a national competition in Tamil Nadu next week.

Go-Kart (G-01) was developed by a group of 25 students from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar. A spokesperson for the institute stated here that it will compete in the All India Go Karting Competition next week in Coimbatore.

He stated that In-charge, Director, NIT, Srinagar M F Wani and registrar Syed Kaiser Bukhari flagged off the Department of Mechanical Engineering Team Garuda’s first racing model, G-01, on Thursday. Adnan Qayoum, Head of the Department, organized the 25-student team, which has been working on the campus for several months under the guidance of H S Pali and Dinesh Kumar Rajendran, according to the spokesman.

He stated that a 150-cc bike engine was used in the Go-Kart, which was constructed from various components. It runs on diesel and takes to a drastic course of action speed of 150 kilometers each hour. The preliminary attempt was directed effectively and it finished all assessments prior to going out and about, the representative said.

“This is the first time that students have created a model similar to the G-Kart. It is simply starting and there is something else to come. Wani stated, “Our students are working day and night on innovations, and we are also upgrading our campus infrastructure.” Rakesh Sehgal, Director of NIT Srinagar, stated in his message that although Go-Kart is new in Kashmir, it is more popular in south Indian states. “Our students are performing well, and the Valley’s innovation trend is evolving with advanced technology in every field,” he stated. H S Pali, Coordinator of the Garuda Team, described it as the most significant event in NIT Srinagar’s history.

The Garuda team’s months of hard work, dedication, and teamwork culminated in the G-01 model, he stated. We have pushed the limits of what Kashmiri students can accomplish. “The launch and demonstration of G-01 is an opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of our karting model,” said Dinesh Kumar Rajendran, the faculty coordinator of Team Garuda. According to Rajendran, the student team from NIT Srinagar will compete in the All India Go Karting competition, which will be held in Tamil Nadu by Kari Motors Coimbatore. He stated, “The students are competent and well-trained enough to perform extraordinary feats in the upcoming days.”
