NCERT Announces Recruitment For 123 Associate And Assistant Professors

NCERT : The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has announced recruitment for various academic positions including Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors. Under this recruitment drive, 123 posts are available for recruitment across the NCERT and its outposts in New Delhi, Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru and Shillong.

The online application process started on July 27 and will run till August 16. The objective of this recruitment is to attract qualified educators to the NCERT, an apex organization for educational research, teacher training and the development of curriculum and instructional materials in school education.

Candidates for Professorship must possess a PhD in the relevant or related field and a minimum of ten years of teaching or equivalent research experience. Additionally, they must have at least ten research publications in journals with peer review.

A PhD in the relevant field and at least eight years of teaching or research experience are required for Associate Professors. Additionally, candidates must have published at least seven times in journals with peer review.

The National Eligibility Test (NET) and a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks are required for Assistant Professors. Candidates may be exempt from the NET if they hold a PhD in the relevant field.

The age requirements for these positions vary according to NCERT and UGC guidelines. The official notification contains specific age requirements.

Application Fee Candidates in the General, OBC, and EWS categories must pay a one-time application fee of Rs 1,000. The application fee is not due by women or members of the SC/ST/PWD groups. The fee is non-refundable and only payable online.

Application screening and an interview are the two steps in the selection process. An interview will only be scheduled with those candidates who have been shortlisted based on their research publications and academic performance. The candidate’s interview performance alone will be used to make the final decision.
