NCERT adds chapter on National War Memorial in Class 7 curriculum

National War Memorial: National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has added a chapter on National War Memorial ‘A Homage to our Brave Soldiers’ in the Class 7 curriculum from this academic year 2023-24.

According to the official statement, “the chapter highlights the history, significance, and concept of the National War Memorial as well as the supreme sacrifice made by the bravehearts of the Armed Forces in the service of the nation post-Independence.”

The goal was set by the ministry of education and the ministry of defense together: “to instill the values of patriotism, devotion to duty, courage, and sacrifice among schoolchildren and increase youth participation in nation building.”

Two friends write letters to each other in the NCERT Class 7 National War Memorial chapter to express their feelings of gratitude for the freedom they enjoy as a result of the sacrifices made by the armed forces.

According to the defense ministry, “creatively brought out by the authors of NCERT, deep emotional impact and connect, which arise in the minds and hearts of the children as they visit the iconic monument” were the words that were used.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had devoted the Public Conflict Dedication in New Delhi to the country on February 25, 2019. The memorial, according to the minister, was established to foster a sense of national pride and sacrifice among the populace. He then, at that point, said that the remembrance will honor the bold troopers who set out their lives shielding the country.
