Meghalaya MBOSE SSLC Results: The Meghalaya SSLC Results for the year 2023 were announced on May 26, 2023. Once again, the students from Garo Hills have showcased their exceptional abilities, with five students successfully securing a position in the merit list of the Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education’s Senior School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination for the year 2023.

The results of the Meghalaya SSLC (Senior School Leaving Certificate) Examination for the year 2023 were announced earlier today. Sherwood School Tura secured the top position, with Samridhya Das achieving an impressive score of 572 marks, earning a distinction in subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science & Technology, Social Science, Health & Physical Education, and History.

Following closely behind was Jyotipriya Bhattacharjee from St. Margaret’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, who scored 570 marks, missing the top spot by just 2 marks. Jyotipriya also received commendations in English, Mathematics, Science & Technology, Social Science, Health & Physical Education, and Alternate English.

The third place was shared by Tanushri Acharjee from St. Margaret’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, Ritam Deep Chowdhury from Sherwood School, Tura, and Salrime M Sangma from St. Xavier’s Secondary School, Tura. All three students obtained a score of 564 marks, with commendations in six subjects.

The remaining positions in the merit list were secured by students from various schools across the state, including a private candidate.

A total of 51,280 students from 656 schools participated in the examinations, which were conducted in 157 centers across the state. Out of these, 26,629 students successfully qualified, resulting in an average pass percentage of 51.93% this year.

Among the regular stream candidates, there were 35,035 students, including 14,488 males and 20,547 females. Additionally, 9,176 non-regular candidates (4,175 males and 5,001 females) and 1,985 private candidates (1,018 males and 967 females) also appeared for the exams. Furthermore, 5,073 students (2,106 males and 2,967 females) sat for compartmental examinations, and 11 students demonstrated significant improvement this time.

In terms of district-wise performance, East Khasi Hills district emerged as the top-performing district, with 12,797 students appearing for the examinations, out of which 9,453 students passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 73.87%. On the other hand, the South-West Garo Hills district recorded the lowest pass percentage of 26.73%, with 3,573 students appearing for the exams and 955 students passing.

In the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination 2023 (Arts), Larisa Lamin from Adventist Higher Secondary School, Thadlaskeiñ in West Jaiñtia Hills district secured the first position by scoring 450 marks with distinction in English, Political Science, Sociology, Education, and Khasi. Evelyne Francisca Khriam from St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong secured the second position with 449 marks, earning commendations in English, Khasi, Education, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Economics. Deinamesha Hynniewta from St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong secured the third position with 446 marks, with distinction in English, Khasi, Informatics Practices, Political Science, Home Science, and Economics. The remaining spots in the Merit List were occupied by students from different schools across the state.

Overall, a total of 25,437 students from 246 schools appeared for the Higher Secondary examinations, conducted in 105 centers across the state. Out of these, 20,425 students successfully passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 80.30%, which showed a slight decline compared to last year’s pass percentage of 81.17%.
