JAC Class 10 Science, Hindi Re-exam Dates Announced After Being Cancelled Due To Paper Leak

JAC Class 10 : Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has announced a retest for the Class 10 Hindi and Science exams on March 7 and 8, respectively. This announcement comes after the original exams, held on February 20, were cancelled due to alleged paper leaks on social media. The Jharkhand board has issued a notice confirming the new exam dates, reported PTI. Students are who set to appear for the exams can check the revised exam schedule on the official website at jac.jharkhand.gov.in.

The Jharkhand Police have arrested 10 individuals in connection with the leak. The Class 10 and 12 board examinations in Jharkhand commenced on February 11 under tight security.  More than 7.84 lakh students appeared for the class 10 exams held in 2,086 centres across the state.

Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) had cancelled the matriculation Hindi exam after it was conducted on February 18. It was found that the papers were circulated on social media before the exam was held. Similar reports emerged for the Science exam, held on February 20. As per reports, question papers were allegedly sold for Rs 350 through WhatsApp groups.

Comparisons revealed similarities between the circulated papers and the actual exam questions. Jharkhand board papers are being held for a total of 80 marks, which include 30 objective questions and some long-format questions. JAC Chairman N Hansda ordered an investigation and sought a report from the Deputy Commissioners of Koderma and Giridih within 24 hours.

The exams began on February 11 and were conducted in two shifts. The morning shift was held from 9:45 am to 1 pm for class 10 exams, while the afternoon shift, from 2 pm to 5:20 pm, was for class 12 exams. The class 12 exams will conclude on March 4. The class 10 Jharkhand board exams which were scheduled to close on March 3 now stand extended due to Science and Hindi re-exams.
