The third day of the G20-S20 meeting took place today at the Indian Institute of Technology IIT Mandi . Delegates from the public and private sectors discussed the “Skill India” theme, which aims to emphasize skill-based education, promote entrepreneurship, and service skills among Indian youth. In accordance with AtmaNirbhar’s goal of making India self-sufficient, the event aimed to develop practical industry skills.
The director of IIT Mandi, Laxmidhar Behera, stated that “Skill India is an essential catalyst for Atmanirbhar Bharat.” We must concentrate on sustainable development in this regard. The United Nations has highlighted 17 criteria for sustainable development, and IIT Mandi is working on numerous initiatives that are connected to these objectives.
“Verticals like bioenergy, climate control agriculture, biomedicine, and the Institute’s Centre for Sustainable Development are just a few examples of it, all of which aim to produce skilled labor. We also hope to provide youth in our country with opportunities for entrepreneurship through these initiatives. further, the director was added.
The transfer of the Skill Development Centre in Una to IIT Mandi as a satellite center for skill development was announced by the deputy CM. In order to develop solutions that are both environmentally friendly and cost-effective, he emphasized the significance of indigenousizing technologies in fields like electric vehicles.
