IIT Madras Zanzibar launches MTech in Ocean Structures

IIT Madras: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Zanzibar has launched a new MTech programme in ocean structures for the academic year 2024-25. Eligible candidates can apply for the postgraduate programme by June 20. IITM Zanzibar is the international campus of the institute.

Up-and-comers having a four-year college degree in structural designing with at least 60% imprints are qualified to apply for the MTech program. Understudies will be chosen for the program based on their imprints in UG and screening test and interview with half weightage to every models. Individual meetings will be directed for those understudies who clear the screening test. The screening test and meetings will be led on the web. The foundation will lead the screening test on June 30 and affirmation letters will be given on July 15.

The new course at IIT Madras Zanzibar is available to up-and-comers of all identities and incorporates two streams – ‘Seaward and Boat designs’ and ‘Port Harbor and Beach front designs’. Stream determination will be founded on the CGPA got by understudies toward the finish of first semester.

The educational plan of the MTech program will be tweaked by the necessities in the oil and gas and oceanic areas. It would cover the rudiments of marine and seaward hydrodynamics, foundational layout for oil and gas investigation seaward stages, ports, harbors including port designs and embankment.

Understudies will concentrate on first, second and fourth semesters at the global grounds, and the third semester at IIT Madras Chennai grounds in India.
