IIT-Kharagpur team conducts road safety training for Kolkata Police

According to the premier institute, the IIT-Kharagpur (IIT-KGP) has organized a road safety training program for approximately 200 Kolkata Police officers. On Thursday, Commissioner of Police Vineet Goyal and Director of IIT-KGP Prof. V K Tewari gave the first of four rounds of the program.

The institute stated that it aims to initiate capacity building in road safety by contributing in a number of areas, such as speed management, emergency response, traffic congestion management strategies, and novel traffic control measures. IIT-Kharagpur has supported all relevant departments in their efforts to cut down on road accidents and the deaths that result from them.

Prof. Bhargab Maitra, who is a member of the team that is in charge of the training, stated, “This program is organized especially keeping in mind the roles and responsibilities of the officers of Kolkata Traffic Police in enhancing the road safety scenario.” A speed the executives strategy and guide has likewise been created by IIT-KGP with help from Worldwide Street Wellbeing Organization (GRSP), which has proactively been acknowledged, on a basic level, by the West Bengal government, the foundation said. ” Tewari stated,
